MOTORSPORT LICENCED RECOVERY UNIT

Vehicle & Equipment

We operate a Mitsubishi L200 as our recovery unit.  This gives us ample room to carry a crew of upto 4 people depending on the needs of the event that we have been asked to cover.  It has had the front bumper replaced with an ARB Winch bumper that houses a Goowinch winch.  The vehcile is euqiped with multiple warning lights to emphesize its presence when protecting a scene or dealing with an incident.  The vehicle is also equiped with  LED scene lighting so that work can be carried out safetly when working into the dark.

The rear canopy is a custom made item that allows us to split our load area into 4 isolated areas.  This allows us to store items in a logical order and make things easier to find when needed.  We have it setup so that 1 side locker is our primary recovery equipement.  The 2nd side locker stores scene lighting and safety along with, medical equipemt and the spill containment items.

The rear upper locker allows us to store longer items between the two side lockers, mainly towing light board, timbers and also stores some PPE equipment.

The lower level houses the heavier items such as the tool kit, fire extinguishers and has storage for extra recovery items that are not often used and spare space of any other items..

The equpiment that is carried meets and exceeds the minimum equipment list in the current Year Book.  The magic word here is minimum as we carry allot of equipment above and beyond what is listed in the current year book

This is just a basic overview of the equipment that is carried, we are currently working on a full list of the equipment carried and collecting pictures, We plan to put a full list of equipment on our website so you can see just what is carried, what is a mandatory item and what we carry above what is needed as there are plenty of items carried above and beyond the MSA Blue Book list.
